On Friday afternoon there was an earthquake. We were in school singing. We had to duck, cover and hold. The kids were amazing. Here is a picture of us showing how we use our hands to protect our necks.
On Monday we wrote some stories about the earthquake. Here are a couple.
I didn’t feel the earthquake. I don’t know why. I must have good balance. My pop’s clock stopped. Why didn’t I feel it? Why didn’t
I feel it?

I felt the earthquake in
the hall. It made me scared. We dropped and covered and held. It made me
wobbly.

I was scared because I
felt funny. It was like an octopus rolling in the hall.

There was an earthquake
at Bulls School. We were in the hall. We were in the middle of ‘Don’t forget your

I felt the earthquake. I
was sad. It felt funny. I thought the building was falling down.

I thought it was an
octopus. “It was… It was scary”
said Lucas. It was up in the sky. It had powers. It had laser powers. It went
to my house and smashed it. Mum was sad.
